Our UAV systems, in conjunction with geo-konzept’s VolumeX software, offer biogas plant operators the perfect tool for independently inventorying and archiving corn silos. This allows for quick, easy determination of the volume and thus the tonnage of renewable raw materials (e.g., corn silage, whole-plant silage) without having to climb the silos. This provides an ideal basis for invoicing suppliers and customers, regular inventory, and just-in-time replenishment planning for the smooth operation of biogas plants.

In addition to determining silo volume, the systems are also perfectly suited for the legally required emergency storage capacity calculation during the planning phase, even on uneven terrain. Searching for fawns with drones: Up to 3.000,- € in government funding

Good news for all fawn rescuers who rely on the support of thermal imaging drones:

As part of the “Federal Funding Program for Fawn Rescue”, the german Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Community (BMLEH) will again support the purchase of such technology this year with a total volume of 2.1 million euros.

In recent years, the use of drones equipped with thermal imaging technology has become established in the search for fawns, as this allows for time-saving and effective searching of grassland and arable forage areas, particularly for fawns, and thus saves them from being killed by mowing machines. According to the Ministry, the use of thermal drones currently represents “the best alternative to previous methods (deterrent measures, on-site inspections).”

Subsidies for the purchase of drones with thermal imaging cameras for fawn rescue amount to up to €3,000 per drone and participant. Expressions of interest can be submitted to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLEH) until June 30, 2026; all information can be found here.

Among others, registered district hunting associations, hunting associations at the district level, or other registered associations at the regional or local level are eligible for funding. Their tasks (according to their statutes!) include the maintenance and promotion of hunting or the rescue of wild animals, primarily fawns, during meadow mowing (so-called fawn rescue associations).

Successful Agritechnica appearance: cropster in focus

From November 9th to 15th, Agritechnica, the world’s leading trade fair for agriculture, took place once again in Hanover. Every two years, this event sets groundbreaking trends for agriculture and agricultural technology. With 2,849 exhibitors from 52 countries and around 476,000 trade visitors from 171 countries, the event was once again a major international industry gathering.

geo-konzept was present with its own stand in Hall 21, showcasing its new, in-house steering system, cropster GUIDE. Bernhard Fuchs, Head of Business Development at geo-konzept, said: “We were very pleased with the interest shown by farmers in our smart farming solutions. There was also a great deal of interest at our counter in the Digital Farming Spotlight. We received positive feedback on our cropster FARM farm management system, which is much more than just a field record system, as well as on our support expertise. The function for recording driven RTK tracks for easier documentation was particularly convincing.”

Another highlight was the presentations by Markus Lämmermann and Patrick Kaiser on the main DLG stage. The presentations from cropster FARM attracted numerous visitors and clearly positioned the new “cropster” product range at the forefront of digital agriculture. Overall, Agritechnica was once again an extremely successful trade fair for us, with many valuable customer contacts and productive discussions.

With its new product range, cropster, geo-konzept GmbH addresses precisely this need: offering field-tested, networked, and user-friendly solutions that support farmers in digitizing their operations – manufacturer-independent and with personalized guidance. With cropster, geo-konzept is launching its first proprietary product range of hardware and software that is interconnected – yet remains open to other systems.

cropster GUIDE – the first steering system from geo-konzept

Based on state-of-the-art GNSS and INS technology, the system, in conjunction with RTK data, achieves an accuracy of ±2.5 cm. This enables cropster GUIDE to provide precise guidance and relieves the driver during all field operations – from tillage and maintenance to harvesting. The system offers various driving modes and the ability to save and reuse track lines.

Field boundaries can be uploaded as shapefiles to avoid overlaps and optimize resource utilization. Thanks to an intuitive user interface, simple calibration, and quick installation, getting started is particularly easy. The cropster GUIDE consists of a smart GNSS receiver, a 10″ tablet, and a steering wheel with a powerful electric motor. A steering angle sensor, the corresponding cable set, and various adapters for steering wheel mounting complete the package. A GTÜ test report for TÜV registration is, of course, included.
