Thermal cameras

Thermal cameras are increasingly used on UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). The purpose is numerous: they provide valuable services in the context of inspections of photovoltaic plants, in the rescue of missing persons, in the search for fawns before mowing, but also to determine drought stress of plants in the trial management.
As the demands on the measurement results differ according to the application, we offer various thermal cameras.

Flir Vue Pro / Flir Vue Pro R

High class thermal cameras!

The FLIR VUE Pro series has been especially designed for use on professional and light-weight drones. With this thermal camera, with a spectral bandwidth of 7.5 – 13.5 μm, you can display relative temperature differences and store them on a microSD card. Of course it is also possible to record thermographic videos and create single images in 14-bit quality. Subsequently, the individual images can be processed e.g. to a thermal orthophoto with relative temperature differences. Settings can be changed very easily and intuitively via Bluetooth in the Flir UAS app, so you do not need a tablet or notebook for changing settings in the field. The camera has a 10-pin mini USB port, it is MAVLink compatible and two camera functions can be controlled during the flight via direct PWM connections. The camera can be ordered in two different resolutions: 336 x 256 pixels and 640 x 512 pixels. The Flir Vue Pro can be easily mounted on our XR6 Hexacopter as part of the “FLIR VUE Pro” thermal upgrade.
The Flir Vue Pro R only differs essentially in the fact that the recorded temperature range is stored in the recordings. This allows you to select the appropriate temperatures for the relevant areas of your images.

Flir Tau 2 with Thermal Capture Module

Lightweight and powerful!

The Flir Tau 2 is a lightweight and powerful thermal camera for UAVs. It is used for measuring and storing absolute temperature values in combination with Teax’s Thermal Capture Module. This makes it ideal for professional use on a UAV.
The camera has a spectral bandwidth of 7.5 – 13.5 μm, a sensitivity of < 30 mK and an accuracy of the temperature measurement of < 50 mK (@ f/1.0). It is well suited for precise temperature measurement even at small differences. The Tau 2 can be operated at ambient temperatures from -50 °C to + 85 °C and records data in the range of -40 °C to + 550 °C.
The recordings are stored in raw format on a SD card, so the desired temperature range during the flight can be adjusted and varied. Is the optimum range found, a batch conversion can be used to convert the data into common image formats, which can be further processed photogrammetrically.
The camera is MAVLink compatible and can be purchased in two different resolutions: 336 x 256 pixels and 640 x 512 pixels. The Flir Tau 2 can easily be mounted on our XR6 Hexacopter as part of the thermal upgrade “FLIR Tau 2”.
